Why Women Owned Businesses?

Some of you many not realize that Colorado Safety Supply Company is part a larger vision. We are not about selling equipment and providing training. Our overall mission is to keep families safe by keeping workers safe. Being a woman-owned business, we care deeply about our own families, our customers, and their employees - and their families!
Below are a few of the certifications we have received at Colorado Safety Supply Company.
As a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), we see it as very important to identify and certify ourselves for a number of reasons. We are also Certified Economically Disadvantaged Woman-owned Small Business (EDWOSB).
There are resources and opportunities afforded to women business owners who go through the certification processes at various organizations, as well as ongoing programming, events and networking. We gain access to industry and thought leaders throughout the U.S., and we collaborate and learn from other members within the organizations that we certify with. Another reason to certify is that the Federal government sets aside certain contract bid opportunities exclusively for small businesses. In order to compete for certain projects, a business needs to register as a vendor and go through the registration process.
Another organization we belong to is the Minority and/or Women Business Enterprise (WBENC). The WBENC believes that "diversity promotes innovation, opens doors, and creates partnerships that fuel the economy. That’s why we provide the most relied upon certification standard for women-owned businesses and the tools to help them succeed."
